Wouldn't you like to be a band booster too?
Why Should I Go to the Band Boosters meeting?
There are a lot of ways to be involved.
Event volunteer – we host a variety of competitions and events
throughout the year. Each of these requires a tremendous amount of volunteer
support. You can volunteer for as little as two hours. This is a great way to
check out what other groups within the Performing Arts Department are doing.
Event volunteers will assist with check in of groups, tabulation, judges’
assistants, and hospitality, just to name a few.
Uniforms – You don’t need to be an ace seamstress to help with
uniforms. We also need people to organize the uniforms and assist with
cleaning and maintenance.
Fundraising – We try to do many fundraisers throughout the year to
help keep our fees down. We are always on the lookout for new fundraising
ideas.
Equipment – for both Band and Guard we are always looking for Dads
who can help with loading and unloading equipment such as props, tarps and
instruments. There are also times when we need props made and painting
done.
Concessions – During the Fall season, we staff a concessions booth
during the football games. Volunteers get into the game for free. We also
occasionally have a concessions booth set up for the competitions that we
host.
Cheering and Support – At times during the season, we will decorate
the Band/Guard Rooms or do other type things to show our support for the
students.
Food – We frequently serve meals for the students and/or pack snack
bags for them when they are traveling. This usually requires just an hour or
two to help with setting up the meals or packing snacks. We also ask for
donations of snacks at times.
This is just a partial list of the things that the Boosters do. Please join
us for our next meeting. If you have any questions about the Band Boosters,
please contact our Booster President at
