What is Band?
ABOUT THE RAYMOND PARK BAND
Message from the director:
The RPIMS Band is a great way to get started at Raymond Park Intermediate & Middle School. As a 6th, 7th or 8th grader, you can begin to learn how to play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument. You have many instrument choices which are listed on this site. This page will give you some information on what the band is about, what to expect, and what you need to do to get started.
JOINING THE RPIMS BAND IS REALLY SIMPLE...just start out by contacting your counselor. Band is a class that is part of a student's daily class schedule. If you have ANY questions, just ask Mr. Brooks! Meanwhile, check out our videos to learn more about the instruments and her from band students and parents.
Band immerses students in a culture of success and challenges each member to use the creative side of their brain while also learning a foreign language: MUSIC. We can’t promise every child will be a musical prodigy but we can promise you will learn, laugh, and grow along the way.
Band students get a wide range of experiences when they take band class, including specialized instruction, competitive performance, scholarships, travel opportunities, and much more! Jazz Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, and Drum Line are all parts of our Band Program.
Most students say that joining band is the best decision they have ever made. I cannot wait to have you in the band next year!
Be Part of the Band!
